One of the most awaited football competitions, Copa America is set to begin on 20 June this year. Now, fans from India will be able to watch the live action of Copa America matches either through online streaming or via TV channels. The United States of America will host the tournament in which a total of 16 teams will try to lift the biggest trophy of South American football.
Copa America 2024 Indian Broadcasting Rights
The Indian broadcasting rights of Copa America are not announced as of now. So it is not confirmed yet which media platform will cover the live action. You may also like to know the Prize Money in Indian Rupees.
In 2021, Sony Sports Network had the Indian broadcasting rights to the competition. So it is expected that the network could be the official broadcasting partner for one time. However, it is yet to be confirmed.
If SPN wins the broadcasting rights of Copa America, it is expected to provide coverage to the whole Indian subcontinent (India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Bhutan, Maldives, and Sri Lanka). The network already holds the live streaming and TV channel rights of UEFA Euro 2024 Championship.
How to Watch Copa America Matches in India
As the official partner is not announced yet, fans need to wait for the official confirmation to find out the live streaming and TV telecast channels.
Sony Sports Network is likely to make a deal with the South American Confederation which means fans could be able to watch the matches on Sony Sports Ten channels.
For the live streaming of these matches, fans might need to use the Sony LIV application or their official website i.e. www.sonyliv.com. The Sony Liv application is available for both Android and iOS devices. These two platforms are owned by Sony for the online content.
Despite the host nation of the competition, the United States will not play the opening game. This time, the defending Champions Argentina will play the 1st game at the Mercedes Benz Stadium, in Atlanta, Georgia. Check out the complete schedule of Copa America matches.
All matches will be played across 14 stadiums in 14 different cities. Hard Rock Stadium will host the final match of the tournament on 14 July 2024. A 3rd play play-off match will be also played before the final. The mascot and match ball for this edition have also been unveiled.
