Jude Bellingham is a professional football player who plays for England National Football Team and the Spanish football club Real Madrid. His full name is Jude Victor William Bellingham and he plays as a midfielder for both teams with different shirts for the club and the nation. He played for Borussia Dortmund and Birmingham City before moving to Real Madrid in 2023.

Jude Bellingham is one of the most prominent rising footballers who was born in Stourbridge, in the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley, West Midlands. His father’s name is Mark Bellingham and his mother’s name is Denise. He is the elder brother of Jobe Bellingham also a footballer who has been playing for Sunderland since 2023.

Start of Football Career

Jude Bellingham joined one of the well-known British Football Clubs called Birmingham City before turning 8. At the age of 14, Bellingham played for the under-18 team of Birmingham City. Before turning 18, he already had eyes from the top European football giants. He was also featured in the top 50 most exciting teenagers in English football by FourFourTwo.

In 2019, he made his debut for the senior team of Birmingham City. Jude played a total of 41 matches for Birmingham City and scored 4 goals before moving to the German club Borussia Dortmund in 2020. Despite his great Career at the British club, he did not win a club title.

Borussia Dortmund

It was not only Borussia Dortmund that showed interest in him, but British club Manchester United also wanted to sign him. However, after looking at the record of Dortmund’s giving chances to new and young players, he and his father decided to move to the German club. It was reported that the deal was completed at £25 million. He finally became a player of Borussia Dortmund on 14 September 2020.

His decision proved right as the German club gave him a couple of chances that Bellingham was looking for. He made Dortmund debut in the German Cup game (DFB Pokal) against MSV Duisburg when he was 17 years old. He scored on his debut day which resulted in a comfortable 5-0 win for his team. With that goal, Bellingham became the youngest goal scorer of Borussia Dortmund in the DFB Pokal competition.

He broke the record of Phil Foden to become the youngest English player to start a Champions League game. His first Champions League goal came against Manchester City in the second leg of the Quarterfinal round. At the German club, he netted 12 goals in 92 official matches in all competitions.

Real Madrid

His remarkable midfielder role got the attraction of Real Madrid who were looking for the replacement of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric. The Spanish club confirmed the signing of Jude Bellingham on 14th June 2023 at a transfer fee of €103 million. This deal was completed when the club wanted to sign Kylian Mbappe.

Bellingham scored his first goal for Real Madrid against Athletic Bilbao on 12 August 2023 in a La Liga game. After Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepillo, Bellingham became the 3rd Real Madrid player to score in the first 4 consecutive matches. In his first 10 matches at Real Madrid, he scored 10 goals which is equal to the record set by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Before playing for the senior national team, Bellingham played for different junior teams. In December 2016, he made his debut for England U-15 against Turkey. Two years, later, in 2018, he played for the England U-16 team. His U-17 debut came in September 2019. Thereafter, he got call-up for the U-21 team for European Championship qualifiers and became the youngest player to appear for England U21.

He was called for the England Senior National Team in November 2020 and made his debut against the Republic of Ireland in a friendly game. Bellingham was also included in England’s squad for Euro 2020 and became the youngest Englishman to play at any major tournament at the age of 17 years and 349 days.

His first goal for the senior team came in England’s first match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in a 6-2 win over Iran. With that goal, he became the 2nd youngest English goal scorer at the FIFA World Cup competition.
