Thibaut Courtois will not play Euro 2024 because of Injury

Sad news for the fans of Thibaut Courtois and Belgium as their main goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has been ruled out of the Euro 2024. He will not play in the European Championship because of the knee ligament injury.

Courtois missed the entire season

Thibaut Courtois missed the whole season and he is set to miss a major tournament in June this year. Belgium football team head coach Domenico Tedesco has announced that he is unable to play in this competition. The coach said

In the absence of Courtois, Kevin de Bruyne or Romelu Lukaku are expected to lead the Belgian team in the European Championship. Courtois did not play any game for Real Madrid this whole season.

The Belgian goalkeeper made his international debut in 2011 and played 102 games for the national side. He did his job quite well especially in the 2018 World Cup when they reached the Semi-Final round.

When will Courtois return?

Well, his return to international duty is not confirmed as of now, but Real Madrid’s manager Carlo Ancelotti is optimistic about his return to the club. Ancelotti has said that he hopes to have Courtois back for Saturday’s La Liga game against Cadiz.

Real Madrid will now play their next game against Cadiz on 4 May at the Santiago Bernabeu before welcoming Bayern Munich for the return leg of the Champions League Semi-Final at the same ground.
