The referee for the final of FA Cup 2024 has been announced. Andy Madley will be the referee for the FA Cup final between Manchester United and Manchester City.
Andy Madley has been acting as the main referee for the Premier League since 2019. From. He has appeared in 22 Premier League games so far and 2 Championship matches. He’ll now act as the main referee for the Manchester Derby in the final of the FA Cup. On this call he said:
It’s an absolute delight and honour to receive this appointment. Domestically, it’s the biggest game of any referee’s career, the one we all dream of when we complete the referee course. I can only imagine what it will be like to lead the two teams out in front of a sold-out Wembley. To receive this appointment off the back of my hard work this season is truly humbling.

Earlier, Andy Madley refereed the FA Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium between Leyton Orient and AFC Fylde on 19 May 2019. He also refereed the EFL League One Play-Off Final between Charlton Athletic and Sunderland on 26 May 2019.

Who will be the assistant referees?
Nick Hopton and Harry Lennard will be the assistant referees for the Final of the FA Cup. Simon Hooper will be the 4th official. Michael Oliver will be on VAR with Pete Bankes and Stuart Burt as the assistants.
The Final of the FA Cup will be played at the Wembley Stadium on the 25th of May. It will be a repeat of the previous Final played in 2023. Manchester City are the defending Champions who won it last time against the other Manchester team one year ago.
