The two teams for the Final of UEFA Champions League 2023-24 have been confirmed. Borussia Dortmund will take on Real Madrid in the UCL Final on 1 June 2024 at the Wembley, London. It is the first Final appearance of Dortmund since 2013 and 6 for Real Madrid since 2014.

Dortmund’s Road to the Final
Group stage: Borussia Dortmund topped one of the toughest groups of this season’s Champions League. They were in Group F with Paris Saint Germain, Milan, and Newcastle United. Against all odds, they finished at the top of Group F with 3 wins and just 1 defeat.
Dortmund’s UCL campaign began with a 0-2 defeat against PSG. However, it was their only defeat in the group stage. In their next game, they played a goalless draw against Milan and then won against Newcastle United. In their remaining 3 group games, BVB won 2 of them and played a draw against PSG in the last one.
Round of 16: They faced Netherlands’s PSV Eindhoven against whom they drew the first leg before winning the return leg by 2-0. With an aggregate score of 3-1, BVB qualified for the Quarter-Finals.
Quarter-Final: It was Atletico Madrid who were the next rivals. BVB suffered a 1-2 defeat against Atleti in the first leg but recovered with a required 4-2 win in the second leg and it was enough to qualify for the Semis.
Semi-Final: In the last 4 round, they again met their group rivals PSG. Dortmund did not PSG to score in any of both legs and secured a 1-0 win in each of them. They qualified for the UCL final with a 2-0 aggregate score.

Real Madrid’s Road to the Final
Group stage: Los Blancos had the perfect start in the Champions League 2023-24 season. They won all of their group-stage games against Napoli, Braga, and Union Berlin.
They began their campaign with a 1-0 win against Union Berlin before a 3-2 win against Napoli and a 2-1 win against Braga. Later, Carlo Ancelotti’s men netted 3 goals against Braga in the second leg without conceding and then won against Napoli by 4-2 before a 3-2 win against Union Berlin.
Round of 16: In the first knock-out round of the competition, Real Madrid managed a 1-0 against RB Leipzig in the first leg. It was a narrow escape in the second leg as a 1-1 draw was enough for them to qualify for the Quarter-Finals.
Quarter-Final: They got the defending Champions Manchester City in the Quarter-Final round and it was a great tie between the two European giants. The 1st leg at the Santiago Bernabeu ended in a 3-3 draw and the return leg at the Etihad Stadium was also a 1-1 draw. Finally, Real Madrid won at the Etihad on penalties to book a place in the Semi-Final round.
Semi-Final: The European rivalry between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich returned in the Semi-Final round. After a 2-2 draw in the first leg, Los Blancos welcomed the Bavarians at their newly built Santiago Bernabeu for the 2nd leg. Bayern did have the lead but Madrid came from 1 goal behind to claim a 2-1 win in front of their fans and qualified for UCL final for the 18th time.
