Will Neymar play in Copa America?

The Brazilian number 10 is recovering very well but he is unlikely to play in the Copa America. The doctors said he’ll be fully fit in July or August which means he might not be available for the Copa America competition. Brazil’s team doctor Lasmar stated that

We haven’t even reached the halfway point of his recovery only when we are closer to nine or ten months (of physiotherapy) can we confirm his return to the pitch.

Neymar got injured during the CONMEBOL World Cup 2026 qualification match against Uruguay on 17 October 2023. Since then, the footballer has not played any games and is in the recovery phase.

On 2 November 2023, he underwent surgery and the medical staff predicted a recovery time of 9 to 10 months. He spent the first few healing months in Brazil and then returned to Saudi Arab February.

So according to the medical reports, Neymar is likely to miss the Copa America 2024 as he’ll not be fully fit for the tournament. He needs a recovery like never before and has to race against time to represent his nation in the biggest football competition in South America.
