Brazil has announced their 23-men team squad for the Copa America and the squad is without Casemiro, Neymar, Gabriel, Richarlison, and many more big names. Being one of the favorites of the Copa America 2024, Brazil will be eyeing the 10th title. They were the finalists last time but lost the final against their fierce rivals Argentina. Goalkeepers
Alisson Becker, Bento, and Ederson are the three goalkeepers for Brazil selected for the Copa America. Liverpool’s Alisson Becker was the first choice for former Brazil coach Diniz. Alisson is likely to be included in the starting line-up who’ll be backed by Ederson and Bento. The Lierpool’s goalkeeper has played 63 games for Brazil so far in his career.
Defenders
Real Madrid’s Eder Militao, Juventus’ Danilo, PSG’s Marquinhos, Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhaes, and 4 more defenders are called up for international duty. Danilo, Murilo, Bremer, and Wendell were called up for the friendlies against England and Spain in March 2024.
Team coach Dorival wants the best possible defense as they already have one of the best midfielders and attackers. He has also called some young faces like Yan Couto, Lucas Beraldo, and Wendell.
Midfielders
Compare the midfield of Brazil with that of Argentina and you’ll find out Argentina’s better one. The main problem is the consistency of the Brazilian midfielders. Former Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro has been ruled out of the squad. West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta and Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes have been called.
Lucas Paqueta is one of the most experienced midfielders with a good goal-scoring record. There are a total of 5 midfielders in the current Brazilian team. The remaining 3 midfielders are Douglas Luiz, Andreas Pereira, and Joao Gomes.

Forwards
There are many forwards but coach Dorival has picked up limited players. The most shocking news is the exclusion of Neymar from Brazil’s team squad. Neymar will not play in Copa America due to injury issues. Real Madrid’s duo Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo will play together for the national side.
Brazil has one of the best attacks in this competition. Along with the Real Madrid due, Barcelona’s Raphinha, and Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli will also be there. Dorival has also called the new sensation Endrick who has already scored 2 goals in his first 4 appearances for Brazil.
