Bayer Leverkusen Extended Their Unbeaten Run to 46 Games

German rising giants Bayer Leverkusen extended their unbeaten run to 46 games in the most sensational way. They are now undefeated in the last 46 games in all competitions including Bundesliga, Europa League, and German Cup. Earlier, they broke Bayern Munich’s record, and now they are just 2 games away from matching Benfica’s 48-game unbeaten record.

Last Minute Goal Saved the Uneabten Run

It was an away game for Bayer Leverkusen against VfB Stuttgart but they did not score or concede in the first half. In the second half, Stuttgart’s Chris Fuhrich broke the deadlock in the 47th minute and gave the lead to the visitors.

The lead was then doubled by Deniz Undav in the 56th minute and the unbeaten record of Bayer was about to end. 5 minutes later, Amine Adli kept the hopes alive when he scored the first goal for Bayer.

After 90 minutes, the scoreline was still 1-2 and Bayer desperately looking for a goal to avoid the defeat. The game was about to end but thanks to Robert Andrich whose last-minute (90+6) goal saved their defeat and kept the record alive.

Xavi Alonso’s team has now scored 16 goals in stoppage time in all competitions this season. They’ve already qualified for the Semi-Final of the Europa League where they’ll face Roma. Leverkusen will also play the final of DFB-Pokal against 1. FCK.

Bayer Leverkusen are already crowned as the Bundesliga champions and they are on the way to becoming invincible. They’ve not lost even a single game so far in this Bundesliga season. If they avoid 3 defeats in the remaining games, they’ll be the invincibles.

Despite this phenomenal run, we should not forget that their treble triumph is also on the way. One out of 3 trophies has been won by the new German Champions. They already broke the dominance of Bayern Munich by claiming their first-ever Bundesliga title.
